Good Soil: Farm. Table. Beast.
Description
Set on the grounds of Mapleton Public House, and connected to The Falls Farm just minutes away, this one-day festival brings together a community of growers, makers, brewers and chefs to showcase an incredible selection of the Sunshine Coast’s food landscape.
At its core, Good Soil is built on two ideas: supporting local producers, and honouring the whole ingredient from root to tip, and nose to tail.
Across the day, the carpark will come alive with a festival menu shaped by the winter harvest and a whole-beast approach to cooking that celebrates every part of the animal and every part of the plant. This is a chance to experience the creativity of our head chef in a more relaxed, accessible format, and gather round an open fire to watch the feast be prepared.
Entry to the festival is free, with lunch offerings available from 12.30pm until sold out at:
💰 Adults $30 | Children $15
💰 *Pre-register and enjoy lunch for: Adults $25 | Children $10
Surrounding this, you’ll find a curated lineup of local producers including Bush Nursery, Heads of Noosa Brewery, Black Flag Brewery, Heaps Normal Brewery, The Falls Farm, Forage Farms, Larry Bakery and Sunshine Coast Coffee Roastery, each bringing their own craft, flavour and story to the day.
And there's plenty more to do across the day; wander through producer stalls, join in on talks, or just spend the afternoon eating, drinking and relaxing while our kids entertainment takes some of the load off. Later in the afternoon, be wowed by incredible local musicians... with the very legendary INTERCOOLER and DOUBLE TALK taking the stage! Keep your eyes on our website for a full line-up of what's happening on the day closer to the event.
For those wanting to go deeper, guided tours of The Falls Farm will run throughout the morning (via a separate ticketed event), offering an opportunity to step onto the farm, meet the growers, and see firsthand the regenerative practices behind the produce.
In the lead-up to the festival, we’ll also be hosting a special ticketed event at Mapleton Public House on 24 July, featuring a live whole-beast butchery demonstration. Keep an eye out for details soon.
Good Soil is a celebration of where great food begins, and a place to learn about our regenerative philosophies if you're curious.
