Good to Great Workforce Development: Practical Training for Disability, Community & Aged Care Support Workers
Format: 6 weekly sessions, 1.5 hours each
Group Size: 2–5 participants
Delivery: Online (Zoom/Teams) or in-person (Townsville & regional QLD)
Facilitation: 1–2 facilitators sharing responsibilities

Session 1 – Valued Roles & Strengths-Based Support
Understanding how roles shape identity and social value
Mapping individual strengths and passions
Identifying opportunities for meaningful participation
Session 2 – Making Friends & Building Relationships
Social skills and relationship-building strategies
Creating natural opportunities for connection
Supporting safe and reciprocal friendships
Session 3 – Developing Life in Community
Understanding membership, belonging, and community assets
Everyday inclusion strategies: events, volunteering, clubs
Linking supports to life beyond services
Session 4 – Knowledge & Skills for Workers
Practical tools: supported decision-making, co-regulation, communication
Building autonomy and capacity in the people you support
Reflective practice and ethical decision-making
Session 5 – Visioning & Goal Setting
Creating a personal or client vision for a “good life”
Setting realistic, meaningful goals
Monitoring progress and celebrating achievements
Session 6 – Supporting Volunteer, Study & Employment Opportunities
Identifying local pathways and opportunities
Tailoring support for participation and success
Encouraging independence while maintaining guidance

💲 Pricing (Small Group)
Per 1.5-hour session: AUD $100 per participant
Full 6-session series: AUD $540 per participant (if paid upfront)
Pricing is designed for small groups (2–5 participants) to remain affordable for individual support workers, reflect the value of practical, applied learning, and allow for co-facilitation while keeping the program profitable.
