Launch of the Woodford Folk Festival Session Tunes Book 26 May 2025

If you have an acoustic instrument and have an interest in playing a wide range of folk tunes from around the world then come along. All levels of musicians are welcome to join in.
This will be the launch event and session celebrating the issue of the first Woodford Folk Festival Session tune book.Copies of the book will be available for $30, alternatively E-Books for $25 can be purchased from: https://payhip.com/b/5q7F3
Special guest speaker is Amanda Jackes, Co-founder and now Managing Director of Woodfordia and Woodford Folk Festival.
Starts at 7.15pm with a tune set, then followed by the official launch by Amanda.
All proceeds from sales go to the Woodford Folk Festival Forest of Goodwill / Land Fundraising Campaign.
ABOUT THE BOOK
This collection brings tunes from traditional musicians who have graced past Woodford Folk Festivals, as well as those that participated in the 2024/2025 Woodford Folk Festival.
It features a blend of original compositions and traditional tunes from a variety of folk genres and cultures, catering to a range of musical abilities
The book contains 114 tunes (over 50 pages) notated with single line melody and chords contributed and created by musicians from across Australia and beyond including Angus Barbary, Ayden Roberts, Bill Hauritz, Bob McInnes, Bob Rummery, Caity Brennan, Dave de Hugard, Dave Russell, David De Santi, David Jacobs, Deidre Hurley, Erin and Lachlan Heycox, Gareth Mewes, Innes Campbell, Jack Meimaris, Jake Charron, Koady Chaisson, Liz Carroll, Lizzie Flynn, Mark Feeney, Nicole Murray, Pascal Gemme, Sam De Santi, Sue Ferrers, Tess Hickey, Tim Chaisson and Ziggy Tredennick.
The tunes span various regions, including the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Quebec, USA, Prince Edward Island (with a nod to festival favourites The East Pointers) and Cape Breton.
