Event description

Good Tycoon will release their debut single "People Go" with a live show on Saturday 6
December 2025 at Woolloongabba's Can You Keep A Secret. The sonic appeal of the
Toowoomba duo is their untypical line-up of vocals, keys and drums which recalls
beloved Brit pioneers (Joe Jackson, XTC, Kinks to name a few) and lyrically alludes to
characters caught in the grip of gaslighting, daily hustle, aging, delight in another's
mischief, and ironically the dark side of nostalgia.

———

The show will also feature sets from two soloists.
Cardboard Cutouts’ front man Eliot Argus is hot off the heels of a well received national
tour for the release of their new album Politics & Footy Tips. His suburban songwriting is
brutally honest, while harnessing a distinctly Australian vocal delivery. Anchored in
nostalgia and authenticity, Eliot’s solo set draws from the same emotionally unfiltered
well that defines Cardboard Cutouts, but with a sharper focus on lyrics & story. Eliot’s
songs capture confusion, hope, and the weird beauty of everyday life.

Mace McGregor has over 25 years experience as a singer and songwriter. Fronting
indie rock and roll 3 piece, Mace & The Motor, McGregor opened for the likes of You Am
I, Screaming Jets, Dallas Crane and The Baby Animals and kicked off Triple Js One
Night Stand in 2012 as the Unearthed artist. More recently his solo efforts sway
between soulful, blues-folk with pensive calculated inquiries into the human condition as
prose.
