Facilitated by TorquePoint's Simon Ewing-Jarvie and Hon Heather Roy, this half-day course is for anyone considering becoming a director, about to join a board, or those who have recently become a director in either commercial or not-for-profit settings. .

Strategy vs Operations
Board and CEO (or GM or MD) relationship
Duties of a director including legislative and regulatory obligations
Board papers – getting the information you need to make good decisions
Assessing Risk
Budget processes
Managing conflicts of interest
Good board practice – policies and procedures

This is a workshop that is fast-paced and serious fun - attendees leave with a suite of digital tools for their governance journey. The workshop is designed so as not to compete with the longer options provided by organisations such as the Institute of Director
