ABOUT THE TOPIC
Whistleblower processes in NFPs. While most non-profit boards champion the principle of transparency, the true measure of their commitment lies in whether their internal systems are robust enough to demonstrate it.

Whistleblower processes are not about expecting wrongdoing. They are about creating a clear and credible way for concerns to be raised when something does not sit right. Staff, volunteers and directors need to know there is a safe, confidential pathway and that speaking up will be taken seriously, not sidelined.

Governance standards overseen by ACNC point to the same principle: accountability and integrity must be built into your framework, not left to culture alone.

For boards, this is less about policy drafting and more about attitude. Would someone in your organisation genuinely feel safe to raise a concern? And if they did, would the process be calm, fair and disciplined?

A well-considered whistleblower framework quietly strengthens trust, long before it is ever tested.

ABOUT THE RENDEZVOUS
The value of governance in your NFP, is where it is used to create alignment throughout the organisation. To do this is about more than best practice. It is about gaining the understanding of how to create the right fit for your NFP.

The NFP Governance Rendezvous is a regular space to hear how you might apply governance to your organisation, and share challenges and successes you have had along the way.

If you are a CEO, Director or Company Secretary of an NFP, or aspiring to these positions; or just wanting to learn more about governance in the NFP space, feel free to come along and be part of the conversation.

If there are specific questions you would like answered, feel free to email these through beforehand and we can look cover these earlier in the discussion.
