Event description

This is a workshop for both new and experienced board members. The workshop encourages board members to see themselves as community leaders and provides the skills, knowledge and confidence for them to govern well. The topics covered depend on the needs of the group although our experience is the most commonly requested are:

• Types of governance boards
• Roles and responsibilities of boards
• How boards add value
• Legal compliance
• The role of the Chair
• Good meeting process
• The board / manager partnership


Tea and light lunch provided.

Ticket price: $30(+GST) per person for member organisations, $45 (+GST) per person for non-member organisations. If unsure if your organization is registered with us please send us an email to admin@volunteeringnorthland.nz

Unable to Attend: This course has been charged at a subsidized rate, if you are unable to attend the course please call Volunteering Northland 0800865268 as soon as possible to reschedule. We may be able to fill the space so please do let us know! Cancellation and refund policy: We will provide a full refund on cancelations provided you contact us at least 2 business days prior to the course start date. No refunds will be made for any cancellation made less than 2 business days prior to the course start date. We are happy to rebook your course at no extra cost provided you make contact at least 1 business day prior to the course start date.
