Event description

In Australia’s dynamic landscape of innovation and social impact, social enterprises and startups are key to driving positive change. Success involves not only great ideas but also navigating governance and legal frameworks for sustainability and compliance.

Impact Seed and WASEC are excited to collaborate and bring you a workshop on governance and legal structures. We’ll tackle key questions: Which legal structure to adopt? How to manage an effective board? What regulations to comply with? How can social enterprises advocate for better regulations?

We’re pleased to welcome expert speaker, Keith Rovers, leader of Minter Ellison’s Social Impact Practice and recipient of the 2023 Individual Outstanding Achievement Award at the Australian Impact Investment Awards. With 30 years of experience across various sectors, Keith also holds board positions at several organisations including White Box Enterprises.

The session will be facilitated by Chelsea Stanway from Impact Seed, a lawyer and social impact consultant with over 12 years of experience. Chelsea is dedicated to addressing social disadvantage through economic empowerment, having worked with diverse organisations in both urban and remote areas of Australia.

Tickets will be heavily discounted for social enterprise members of WASEC.

Location: MinterEllison, 1 The Esplanade, Perth WA 6000

  • Lunch: a selection of sandwiches, salads, drinks will be provided (noting dietary requirements)
