The dawn of intelligent robots. Clouds and deep-learning machines. Big data and black-box algorithms. Artificial intelligence could upend every aspect of our lives. For one billion people with disability in the world, technology can transform life itself.

These are some of the issues the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) is considering in its Human Rights and Technology Project, which is looking at what technology means for our society and how it can be harnessed for good.

Can the existing law be applied in new ways, or is legislative reform required? Does a co-regulatory approach provide more flexibility? How can human rights compliant AI be encouraged or incentivised?

Join Australian Human Rights Commissioner, Edward Santow for a keynote address and a panel discussion with AI and data experts.
