Graduate Research School HDR Induction - via UTS Online
Event description
It is expected that all first year HDR students attend HDR Induction.
Zoom has experienced severe technical issues. Unfortunately, we are not able to run HDR Induction online via Zoom at this stage.
Instead, pre-record session videos and ppt slides will be uploaded to ‘Useful Resources and Information for HDR Students’ on UTS Online by Friday, 27 March 2020.
Please follow the steps below to watch HDR Induction session online:
1. Go to UTS Online and log in UTS Online(Blackboard) using your UTS student credentials
2. Click on ‘Useful Resources and Information for HDR Students’
3. From the menu on the left hand side, click on HDR Induction
4. Induction session videos will be available by Friday, 27 March 2020.
This highly recommended session for first years provides an overview of the UTS Graduate Research Education Framework and UTS services that support HDR students during their candidature. Some of the topics covered include:
• Expectations, Progress Reports, Assessments and their relationship to the research lifecycle
• The Graduate Research Study Plan and how it is intended to guide students through their research journey
• An overview of workshops provided by GRS to help develop HDR students as researchers
• An introduction to various services that support HDR students (e.g. UTS Library, Postgraduate Career Services etc.)
