Graduating into a World of AI - How to turn AI into your unfair advantage.

A year and a half ago, Blake Harkness was a student at Massey University. Today he runs his own AI consultancy, sits on advisory committees for Engineering NZ and the AI Forum, and leads a national community of over 200 young people in AI. In this talk, Blake shares the honest story of how he got here, and why students graduating right now face a strange contradiction: youth unemployment is high and the job market has rarely felt more uncertain, yet the opportunity in front of this generation might be the biggest of any before it. Expect a practical look at what actually works: the moves that put you ahead of most other grads, why being the person who can bridge AI and real business is one of the most valuable positions going, and how to start building that advantage before you've even finished your degree.

Ann-Marie Kennedy, Associate Dean Academic from the UC Business School, will also present a short segment on the Business School’s approach to AI. Ann-Marie will outline the key principles and activities that the UC Business School is engaging in to support students in their use of AI.
