Graft your own apple tree!
Event description
Learn all about grafting in this workshop and take away your own grafted plant!
- Hear a presentation on the basics of grafting fruit trees
- Learn all the tips and tricks for a successful graft
- Practice the cuts using the right tools and the correct technique
- Graft your own plant and take it home!
We will provide a selection of apple varieties to choose from (as scionwood for you to graft), but please feel free to bring your own. It could be a piece of your favourite apple tree, an old heritage tree or something sentimental.
The Kiosk, Christchurch Botanic Gardens, 23rd September, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
Public - $25, including a tree to take home.
Tree Crops Members - Free to attend, $10 to graft your own tree.
Extra rootstocks will be available for $10 each, subject to availability
This is a public event by the Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Tree Crops Association.
