The Grand Kiki House of Marama Ball will celebrate five years of the Kiki House of Marama excellence and the legacy of the growing Wellington Ballroom scene.

Join us for a night of high-energy performances and out-of-this-world fashion as walkers compete for trophies and prizes in a display of Black and Brown queer and trans joy, liberation, and Ballroom* artistry.

With a fabulous line-up of Categories, Judges, Commentators and DJ, including major local and international Ballroom figures, we invite you to wear your best outfits and prepare to finger snap ✨ 🤏 dance 💃 and cheer 🥳 the night away at Te Papa Tongarewa on Sat 4th Oct.

Ballroom* is a safe space created in the 1960's, forged by the Black, Latinx and queer Americans in protest against the racism and queerphobia that they faced from the non-queer community and white queer community.
