Horse SA are excited to announce the opening of the Safer Equine Bushfire Refuge in South Australia, located at the Murray Bridge Racing Club, ready for fire season 2023/24.

To celebrate this we are hosting a Grand Opening public event and you are invited!

This ticket is a free reservation to the event. Closer to the date we will send a reminder and check your attendance.

Light refreshments and drinks will be provided.

This opening event will include a Welcome to Country, a tour of the refuge site and a rundown of how the booking app will work. We will also be running a live-time trial with 3-5 horse owners and their horses, arriving at the site with their floats and undertaking a trial run of offloading their horses into their allocated yards.

We will of course provide plenty of opportunities for your questions to be answered.

Importantly, we thank the Murray Bridge Racing Club for dedicating a portion of land to housing horses under emergency conditions without cost to the community, the Australian Government for their funding through the Black Saturday Bushfire Recovery project and all of our Horse SA members, Sponsors and supporters.
