Grand Theft Theatre was originally commissioned for the 2022 Melbourne Fringe Festival, where it won the prestigious Best Theatre award.
6 theatre makers recreate 12 moments from performance history.
In painstaking detail they commit Grand Theft Theatre.
Experimental performance company Pony Cam has teamed up with David Williams to re-examine and re-perform those theatrical moments that have forever changed us.
Moments from Hotel Pro Forma, Sidetrack Performance Group, The Rabble, Gob Squad, Roarawar Feartata, The Hayloft Project, Hofesh Shechter, Forced Entertainment and a bunch of other companies you wouldn’t recognise by name.
Together, we will unpick these moments into the here and now.
We will pollute the space with their messes .
We will pervert our bodies with their intentions.
We will dismember their theatrical legacies that were forged with love, sweat, accidents, fights, resistances, loneliness and fake blood.
