Event description
This workshop equips adults with the skills to recognise and respond to a young person who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.
Using a practical, evidence-based action plan, participants will learn how to support an adolescent until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
Topics covered include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
You will learn how and where to get help when a young person is developing a mental illness, what help research has shown to be effective and how to provide first aid in crisis situations.
