Grant Essentials

Workshop Overview

The purpose of the Grant Essentials Workshop is to improve grant writing skills and knowledge and to prepare participants to be able to apply for any grant. At the conclusion of the workshop participants will have a better understanding of what grant assessors are looking for in grant applications and have the confidence and knowledge to apply for grants on behalf of their organisation.

The workshop will include:

• An introduction to grants, including what they are, information on where to find them and an explanation of eligibility and assessment criteria,
• The process of best-practice project planning to prepare for grant success,
• Information on how to address grant criteria,
• An explanation of the grant writing approach; what are assessors looking for and how do you give them what they need?
• Answers to specific grant writing questions the attendees may have.

Each attendee will be provided with a Grant Writing Checklist and a Project Plan template to use for planning projects and writing grant applications.
