Grant Writing Session
Event description
This session is for those actively involved in grant writing for your group and have experience or have previously participated in a grant writing workshop.
The workshop will hone in on being clear about your objectives and how these align with the funders as well as how to best state this alignment and gain an understanding of the criteria
funders use to determine whether your grant proposal gets funded or rejected. We will look at those finishing touches that can give your project the edge over others.
» Learning how to research funders so you can match your grant funding needs to their interests
» Understanding grant funder and assessors' unconscious bias
» Preparing each section so that you use the most useful information and avoid mistakes that can lose points
» Looking at your proposal from the funders and assessor's viewpoints
» Obtaining community and other support before submitting your application
» Reviewing different budget formats
» Using words that work
» Taking the next step when your proposal is either funded or rejected
