The NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) helps outstanding postdoctoral researchers complete needed mentored training and transition in a timely manner to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions.
Eligibility for K99/R00: U.S. citizen or non-citizen, with research or clinical doctoral degree, and no more than 4 years of Postdoc experience.
The Specific Aims page is essentially the one-page "sales pitch" for your grant and a key part of any grant being submitted to the NIH and elsewhere.
