We’ll span topics and content – ranging from big philosophical questions to granular technical approaches – and draw on best practices and insights from across the globe and from our peers in the room.

Who should participate?

This training is designed for new or emerging leaders in their first few years of grantmaking. Donors looking to launch a new foundation or deepening their existing practices may also find this training valuable. Registration is capped at 30 participants.

Presenter

Dr Jason Franklin – Founder and Principal of Ktisis Capital

Dr. Jason Franklin is the Founder & Principal of Ktisis Capital through which serves as a strategic advisor to a mix of progressive individual donors, families, foundations and philanthropic collaboratives. He has spent over twenty years engaged in progressive philanthropy across a wide range of roles including donor advisor, scholar, grantmaker, family & independent trustee, and donor organizer. He also serves as chair of the Michigan Alliance and treasurer of the Threshold Foundation and is a member of the Smithsonian’s Philanthropy Initiative Working Group, Threshold’s High Impact Documentary Funding Circle, Democracy Alliance, Solidaire, and WINGS: Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support. He previously worked as the inaugural Kellogg Community Philanthropy Chair at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy and before that as Executive Director of Bolder Giving, an organization that inspired people to give big & take more risks with their philanthropy.
