    Event description

A tour of 3 precious ancient grasslands in Wyndham, starting at the historic Truganina Cemetery, then driving to Woods Road Grassland, and finally to Truganina South Nature Conservation Reserve.

The native wildflower meadows of Victoria are one of Australia's most endangered ecosystems, and are home to critically endangered plants such as the Button Wrinklewort and the Spiny Rice-flower. They once spread all the way from the Yarra River to the South Australian border, but now only a tiny 2% of the vast grassy plains still exist.

Truganina Cemetery is a tiny jewel, an old pioneer cemetery, where you will see the Button Wrindlewort and other beautiful wildflowers.

We are taking you to Woods Road Grassland so you can see how a developer's neglect and poor management can cost us our priceless heritage.

And at Truganina South, you will see a grassland reserve that Parks Victoria is working hard to restore to its former beauty.
