European demand for Australian Canola is founded on the suitability of canola as a feedstock for the European biodiesel industry. Whereby the European Union imposes specific sustainability requirements for energy feedstocks used to replace fossil fuels. Selling sustainable Canola comes with the obligation that you can evidence your farm meets the requirements to be classified under the program, but that shouldn’t deter growers from participating. To make compliance easier for growers, the Australian Oilseed Federation (AOF) established a Central Office to simplify and streamline the paperwork and audit requirements for growers and traders, to make the pathway for access to the market as streamline as possible, so what do you need to know about ISCC to feel confident to participate?
