Great Global Mend
Event description
Be part of a worldwide repair movement as the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale proudly joins forces with FabPatch, the Circular Fashion Festival, and Positively Sew, to promote repair, reuse, and sustainable fashion practices.
Bring along one ripped, worn, or damaged item of clothing, gear, or textile and discover simple, practical repair skills in a fun and welcoming environment. With hands-on demonstrations and expert guidance, you’ll revive your favourite pieces instead of throwing them away.
At 11am, everyone repairing, along with participants from other local government events, will be counted in an unofficial world record attempt. This highlights how sustainable fashion is growing in our community and how we’re choosing repair over waste.
This free, family-friendly event includes:
Creative and personalised repair tips and tricks from Selina at Positively Sew
Picnic-friendly space with nearby playground
A great opportunity to connect with likeminded locals
Date: Saturday, 11th of October
Time: 10am - 12pm
