Event description

In a world of fragmentation, ongoing colonisation and disruption, the echo of a melody sings, telling stories of our times, inviting all who hear to rise in resilience.

Great Music for Gaza is a mutual aid event to establish the uniting of communities to speak, listen and advocate for a world that supports the liberties, freedom and justice for Palestinians.

The ill actions of the Apartheid State of Israel must be held accountable for the the incessant crimes against humanity, through genocidal bloodshed, forced starvation, theft of homelands and continued illegal settler occupation.

In these times, coming together in solidarity with Palestine is the only way forward for all people to recognise they have a place in defending livelihood itself from the capitalist and imperialist systems that only seek to conquer, destroy and divide.

This is a space of deep feeling, connection, education and action.

Held at Kulcha Jam, Byron Industrial, with the sounds of soul, jazz and truth echoing words and rhythms from featured artists as a way to imbue strength to persevere in these times of global hardship.

Great Music for Gaza is a movement to gather musicians with their communities and greater cities to cultivate space for in person events that inspire, educate and lead to action in support of the long journey ahead in advocating for a Palestine that is free.

This event is in collaboration with Northern Rivers 4 Palestine. A continuous source of power, peace-keeping and community engagement for the rightful livelihood of Palestinians rights to exist.

100% of profits from this event will be directed towards Palestine through the Olive Kids Foundation. "We work in a range of different areas, providing financial aid, healthcare, education, and other support to children living in Palestine. All our work is conducted in collaboration with our partner organisations on the ground – it is based on the needs that these organisations identify, and our work is designed and delivered in a way that ensures we build local capacity, support local businesses, and enable self-determination." - Olive Kids

Gathering and living on Bundjalung Country, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land as First Nations — past, present, and emerging. We support their rights to speak for Country and their people, to access a life free from the ongoing impacts of colonisation.
