Great Southern Bioblitz: A Nature Walk with Ian Moodie
Event description
Join Ian Moodie, environmental educator, nature enthusiast and wildlife photographer, for a walk through Valley Conservation Reserve. Ian has lots of experience photographing native wildlife- from tiny insects to reptiles and birds.
Together we will explore the wonderful bird life of the local environment and record your wildlife observations into iNaturalist.
Please note: We will be meeting at the Valley Conservation Reserve education hub. Carpark entry is from Waimarie Drive. From the carpark follow a short path heading south towards the hub.

We advise wearing walking shoes, a hat and a coat depending on the weather.
Please come with iNaturalist application downloaded on your phone and an account logged in to make observations!

It's the perfect time to get outdoors during this international period of intense biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within the Southern Hemisphere. You can learn more at Great Southern Bioblitz.
Participants observe flora, fauna, fungi and aquatic life found in their local parks, bushlands and reserves between 24 - 27 October 2025 before uploading them to their iNaturalist mobile app (or web account).
