Great Southern Youth Sector Forum - Albany 30th August 2022

The Youth Affairs Council of WA (YACWA)* is excited to host the inaugural Great Southern Youth Sector Forum in Albany this August.
The forum is a gathering of youth workers, service managers, executives and government officials in the Great Southern region of WA. The focus is on networking and exploration of key issues in the youth sector such as education, mental health, housing, employment and justice.
We aim to explore the strengths, challenges and innovations happening in the sector, and create a space to work together to map out approaches and solutions that create an equitable future for young people and the industries that support them.
The forum will run in an interactive, workshop format with the aim of listening to what the Great Southern region of Western Australia needs to improve the wellbeing, opportunities and security of our state's most vulnerable young people.
The forum will also provide an opportunity for you to meet your peak body and learn about how YACWA can support your work. The YACWA team are looking forward to listening and learning, to ensure we can better incorporate regional voices into our policy and advocacy work.
We are also excited to announce that we will be joined at the Forum by the Minister for Youth. We have also invited a number of state and local Members of Parliament to join in on some of the discussions as a crucial part of efforts to implement collective solutions enhancing youth service delivery in Western Australia.
Tickets for this event are currently limited to two per youth service/organisation to ensure a diversity of voices and sector representation in the room. We encourage people to register for the event individually, to ensure we are able to support your needs as best possible. TIME: 9:30am to 3.15pm. You can arrive from 9am for registration, tea and coffee. Morning tea and lunch are provided. Please advise us of any dietary requirements when you book.
