Projects Overview:Â
Project: Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA)
The Victorian Government's Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) has been established to design, procure, build, and upgrade the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe. With 57 projects worth $2.1 billion under active management CSBA provides end-to-end project management and delivery of Victoria’s new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety measures on behalf of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Program of works: CSBA is seeking to understand regional capabilities to assist in the design and construction of its upcoming investment pipeline, including the construction of seven CFA stations across the State located in Newborough, Pyalong, Wyndham Vale, Metcalfe, Serpentine, Riddells Creek and The Basiny. This is an opportunity to meet the Fire Services team within CSBA that manages and delivers infrastructure projects on behalf of the Country Fire Authority (CFA).
Project: Fosterville Gold Mine - Agnico Eagle
Fosterville Gold Mine is located 25km east of Bendigo and is Victoria’s largest gold producer. Fosterville Gold Mine employs over 800 people, the majority of which live locally in Central Victoria.
In 2023, Fosterville Gold Mine contributed over $300 million to the local economy, with the mining industry representing over 10% of Greater Bendigo’s economy. Fosterville Gold Mine engage over 640 Victorian businesses to the value of approximately $168 million per year.
Over the last 10 years Fosterville Gold Mine has invested over $2 million back into local community through its social responsibility programs. In addition, the Community Partnership Program has contributed approximately $5 million per year over the last 3 years to community projects and services.
Procurement and Tender processes are important aspects to the ongoing efficient operations of Fosterville Gold Mine. Fosterville Gold Mine’s strong focus on sustainability, innovation, technology, and social responsibility continuously seeks expression of interest (EOI) from suppliers and contractors on goods and services.
All EOI can be emailed to fgm.contracts@agnicoeagle.com
Project: Bendigo Stadium and Bendigo Showgrounds
Development Victoria is excited to be delivering upgrades at Bendigo Stadium and Bendigo Showgrounds - two of three projects included in the Bendigo Sports Package, announced as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.
Bendigo Stadium will see an expansion that includes a new two-court annex and upgrades to two existing courts. The project will also install lighting to the outdoor netball courts, while new solar panels, a backup generator, utility upgrades and improvements to the car park and accessibility will ensure local clubs have the facilities they need to play year-round.
This investment will attract even more sporting events to Bendigo – boosting local jobs, businesses, and the region’s economy.
A new multipurpose pavilion at Bendigo Showgrounds will draw visitors from far and wide to Bendigo. A redevelopment of the arena – plus upgrades to all four entrances and perimeter fencing – will see the Showgrounds remain a prime venue for cultural and agricultural events for years to come.
These projects will deliver a range of benefits for the region, including increased sports participation and will bring more events to regional Victoria, supporting local businesses and creating more local jobs.
Further updates on the projects will be provided in the coming months, with works expected to commence in 2025.
