The Green & Gold Gala is the Aussie Athlete Fund’s signature celebration — bringing together athletes, supporters, partners and community to mark the close of the Great Aussie Athlete BBQ Season.
Hosted at the stunning Howard Smith Wharves in Bougainvillea House, the evening celebrates the power of community backing Australian athletes.
Guests will enjoy a gala BBQ, drinks package and the opportunity to connect with incredible athletes from across the Aussie Athlete Fund community.
More than just a night out, the Green & Gold Gala is a celebration of what can happen when businesses, communities and everyday Australians rally behind our athletes.
Together — with our partners, supporters, volunteers and athletes — we are building something bigger than a program or a fund.
We are building a movement to ensure no Australian athlete is forced to give up their dream because of their bank balance.

- Who is the Aussie Athlete Fund?
Australia celebrates sporting success — but behind the podium, many of our athletes are struggling just to stay in the game.
While the nation proudly cheers for the green and gold, the financial reality for many emerging and elite athletes tells a very different story. Rising costs for travel, coaching, equipment, recovery and competition mean that many athletes selected to represent Australia are living below the poverty line while chasing their dreams.
Too often, talented athletes are forced to make impossible choices:
work extra hours or train, pay for food or travel to competition — or walk away from sport entirely.Founded in 2023 by five-time Olympian Natalie Cook, the Aussie Athlete Fund exists to change this reality.
Our mission is to build a Sustainable Athlete Economy for Australia — one where athletes are supported not just to compete, but to thrive.
Through direct athlete funding, fundraising education, mentoring and meaningful connections with businesses and communities, we are helping athletes overcome financial barriers so they can pursue excellence in the green and gold — and transition confidently into life beyond sport.
Because supporting athletes isn’t charity. It’s an investment in people, potential and national pride.

Smart Casual
Not black tie or cocktail attire. Think your best smart casual: a great dress, your favourite chinos. Add a touch of green or gold and you're perfect.

COCKTAIL STYLE, STANDING
This is a lively, social standing event with bar tables, stools and lower table throughout. Think fabulous party not formal dinner.

Your ticket includes canapés, gourmet BBQ and 3 hours of drinks from the moment you walk in.

Paid parking underneath or if you're lucky, street parking up the top of the lifts.
