Green Drinks: Can Queenstown be Plastic Free?

It's Plastic Free July across the globe, but what's the plastic situation in Queenstown like?

Join us for our July Green Drinks at Frank's Eatery to hear from our fabulous panel about the efforts being made in our community and if Queenstown will ever be single-use plastic free.

Meet our plastic free panel:

🟠 Kath Buttar is the Waste Minimisation Project Officer (aka our hero!) at QLDC and is passionate about reducing the impacts of plastic consumption in our district and beyond. She is at the front line of dealing with the complexities we face with plastic recycling, especially in public places and is a wealth of knowledge about the state of plastic in our town and the direction its heading.

🟠 Lauren Redmond is the founder of New Leaf Refills, Queenstown's online eco-friendly refill service. Lauren has drawn inspiration from stores around the globe to create a simple solution to low waste shopping with refill options for our weekly basics to make it easy to avoid plastic packaging.

🟠 The LUMA team has been making incredible strides to be a low waste, single-use plastic free event and has set the bar high for other events in our district. A huge number of learnings have come from LUMA 2021 which will be used to progress the plastic-free dream in 2022.

Join us from 7pm on Thursday 15th July at Frank's Eatery for great discussions, Q&As and insights into the state of plastic in our town.
