Event description

Rescheduled from August!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We live in a community of year-round adventurers, so let's celebrate the land that enables this!

Join us for our September Green Drinks at Basecamp Adventures in Frankton to hear from DOC ranger Fiona Peat about how to adventure in our great outdoors without causing damage to our environment, then get active with some social indoor climbing!

Arrive at Basecamp at 6pm on Thursday 16th September where we'll kick off with an informal talk from DOC before the climbing begins.

No climbing gear and no climbing experience? No worries! All levels are very welcome and Basecamp has all the gear we'll need.

A couple of things to make this month's Green Drinks different:

1. There will be no drinks (shock horror!). Due to the active nature of climbing up, along and under a wall, the 'drink' this month will be our best mate, water! BYO water bottle for extra kudos 😉

2. Tickets are more than usual. Basecamp has done us a brilliant deal to offer two hours of climbing and bouldering with gear hire included for just $20, making it an ace opportunity to get along!

3. We're in Level Two, so this event is working within restrictions. Please wear a mask, scan in on arrival and practice 2m distancing between bubbles. Thank you!

A note from Basecamp:

"As a small climbing gym we have been working towards minimising our environmental footprint. This can be really challenging sometimes when we have to keep safety as our number one priority, but we try to be mindful when buying new or retiring old gear - for example once a rope has to be retired from the climbing wall (no longer deemed safe for climbing) we try to find ways to repurpose the rope, such as chopping it up to use in our after school classes in exercises and knot tying sessions. Although it is not always a lot, we know that every little bit makes a difference so we are always trying to find new ways we can do this! Next up is hopefully a compost bin!"

As always, our September Green Drinks is open to everybody 18+.

Once you've got your ticket, please sign the waiver (before the night!) in the following link if you haven't been to Basecamp before:
