Green Rangers (My Urban Farm) with Tiny Creators

At Tiny Creators, our Green Rangers are explorers, earth guardians, gardeners, kind, creative, brave and curious. Our program aims to support and nurture each of these traits through weekly themes grounded in the permaculture values and earth care.

Join us at the Paddock for a new term of Green Rangers, perfect for little ones aged 2 - 5 years who love being outside and embrace getting a little grubby. This term we are all about our urban farm, your little ones will explore skills and activities that they can bring to the home, school or any nature setting and build their own urban farm.

Welcome to the paddock: Get to know our space and explore gardening, art and small world play

Crafting a Sustainable Home: We'll be looking at key skills that help make a sustainable home.

My Kitchen Garden: Through play we will explore growing our own food and how we can make use of the abundance this time of year.

Waste Not: Lets explore how we can reduce waste in the home, this could be through composting, worm farming and so much more!

Our Ecosystem: What's an ecosystem? Why's it important? Lets explore ecosystems and make one to take home

Chickens - A Gardeners Bestie: Let's explore how to keep chickens and what they do for the garden. We might even have a surprise visit from some chickens.

Soil is alive!: Lets discover the world beneath our feet and get a little grubby whilst doing it

Caring for the land: This class will be at an alternate location (TBC) where we will be working with another organisation on the importance of earth care and volunteering.

Permaculture Christmas: Let's get crafty and celebrate Christmas the permaculture way. Make homemade gifts and celebrate the season together.

**Younger children are welcome to attend however please keep in mind activities will be tailored to the age ranges listed above. Siblings under 1 are at no cost and children 12-24 months receive a 50% discount.

Frequently asked questions

What should I bring?

All you need is your little one and a grown up who is willing to participate alongside them. We are outside so closed in shoes (gumboots are great for the paddock), a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and clothes appropriate to the weather (that your don't mind getting a little grubby) are recommended.

How will the session run?

Our sessions will begin with a quick chat about the theme of the week, the children will then have time to explore each of the stations at their own pace. Half way through we will come together for our group activity.

What if the weather is bad on the day?

If the weather is predicted to be significantly bad on the day we will be in touch to offer a makeup session or refund.

Refund policy? 

We won't be offering refunds for our term or casual passes unless the class has been cancelled by us. If you can't make a class, please reach out to us via email (tinycreatorscanberra@gmail.com). Please give at least 24 hours notice of an absence and we can organise a makeup session. If you miss your agreed makeup session we will be unable to arrange an alternative.
