Green Rangers - Tiny Creators
Event description
Is your Tiny Creator fascinated by the natural world? Do they love discovering garden creatures and caring for the environment? If so, your child is ready to become a Green Ranger! Our Green Rangers Program, designed for children aged 2-5, cultivates a love for nature through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Each session blends guided activities with free exploration of themed stations, where every week your child will make something to bring home and enjoy.
Join us for a term of discovery, where each week brings a new theme and hands-on exploration. Culminating in a special mini-graduation, your child will proudly earn their Green Ranger status.
Our themes:
Compost Heroes: We'll talk about what it means to be a Green Ranger and then delve into making worm farms, exploring sensory trays and making playdoh worms.
Weather Wonder: Let's learn about the weather together. We will talk about weather patterns before exploring making our own rain gauges, shakers and water harvesting play.
Our Natural World: This week we are looking at the natural beauty around us. We'll make some framed art pieces, do a scavenger hunt and see how we can use nature in different ways for play.
Bees and Our Garden Friends: Let's walk around the paddock and spot bees as we talk about their importance to the environment. Make your own bee drinking station to take home and explore rock paintings and bug hotel small world play.
Kindness Makes Us Strong: This week we are exploring kindness. What simple actions can we do to show kindness to the earth, to the animals and to each other? Let's do some gardening together, make seed bombs and cards for those we care about.
Reuse, Recycle and Upcycle: Our Green Rangers will start the day with a waste sorting game. Then let's work together to make the best cardboard creations, maybe we will make a cardboard tree house? or a rocket ship? To take home this week, we will make some nature weaving artwork.
Stop! Look and Listen: Green Rangers, it's time to stop and take in the world around us. What cues can we take from nature? What can we learn from watching and listening? Let's make binoculars and play a game of I Spy. Our sensory stations will include a look into the seasons and bug life-cycles.
Better Together: This week we are looking at diversity. Diversity in nature and in life makes us resilient and strong. Through play we will explore companion planting, team work and how different cultures interact with the land.
I'm a Superhero Change Maker: We've spent the term learning about the world and what we can do to make a difference so now it's time to make your own Green Ranger superhero outfit. Will yours have a mask? a cape? a crown? We'll test our new uniforms with some races and end the session with affirmations and a mini-graduation ceremony.

Frequently asked questions
What should I bring?
All you need is your little one and a grown up who is willing to participate alongside them. We are outside so closed in shoes (gumboots are great for the paddock), a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and clothes appropriate to the weather (that your don't mind getting a little grubby) are recommended. Feel free to bring a snack to eat over story time.
How will the session run?
We will start the session with a group activity and introducing the children to the theme of the week. Once we've finished the group activity, the children will have some time for free exploration of the stations. We will finish the session with a story.
What if the weather is bad on the day?
If the weather is significantly bad on the day, we do have access to an indoor space with a long table within Dirty Janes. Our classes might look a little different indoors but we will still explore the theme for the week and our scheduled activities. We will let you know via email and Instagram stories should our classes be moved indoors.
Refund policy?
We won't be offering refunds for our term or casual passes. If you can't make a class please reach out to us via email (tinycreatorscanberra@gmail.com). We will be running makeup classes over the school holidays or we might have spaces in another time slot on your scheduled day. Please give at least 24 hours notice of an absence and we can organise your makeup session.
