Event description

An enriching program of hands on learning for children from 5-12 years growing food and flowers at Green Thumb Farm! 🍅🐞♻️ 🌿👩‍🌾 🌈

Welcome to our Green Thumb Homeschooling Program!  Tailored for children aged 5-12 (and a supervising adult), we run the program at our community farm in Samford Valley where we practise organic and regenerative farming. Our aim is to inspire children with a love of nature, and a deep connection to where food comes from.  We would love to have you along!

Term 2 Dates:  Wednesday 17th April - 19th June, 2024 (10 week term)

What we do:

Each week we focus on a different activity at the Farm, so the children have an opportunity to learn and participate in a wide range of activities from planting seeds, harvesting, and maintenance jobs around our community farm.

Our group is a small group of maximum 12 children.   Our focus is to provide opportunities for the children to experience hands on learning in a welcoming group environment that sparks their creativity and inspires a natural love of learning.

We structure the morning into two activities, with a morning tea break in the middle.

Please arrive by 9.20, as we start promptly at 9.30am

Making it really affordable:

We are a not-for-profit community farm and we need to cover our costs to keep the farm running, and we also strive to keep our programs as affordable as possible so that more children can benefit. We offer term discounts and sibling discounts. We also have many volunteering opportunities, and if you are able to offer a skilled exchange we may be able to provide a further discount.

SIBLING DISCOUNT: Use code: [DISCOUNT20%] at the checkout if you are booking for siblings.

TERM DISCOUNT: We offer a discount with a $100 saving if you book for the whole term upfront. This helps us with our planning as we know how many children to expect each week.

If your child hasn't attended before, you are welcome to pay for a casual session as a trial, and then should you wish to book for the term, simply let us know and we will subtract off the fee to offer you the term discount.

If your child attended in term 1 (which means we have all your information already), and you wish to purchase an upfront term - you are welcome to transfer directly into our account and avoid the processing fee. Please email admin@greenthumbfarm.org.au to register, and we will send you our bank details.

What to bring:
  • Please wear closed shoes
  • A hat, water bottle & sunscreen
