Your Story
Autobiographical Theatre Workshop
You! Yes, you! It’s time to bring your story to the stage. You don’t need to have climbed Mount Everest or won Australian of the Year – your everyday life is a mountain, and you already have all the accomplishments you need. With a little honesty, a touch of humor, and some theatrical flair, your experiences can be transformed into something magical.
In this 2-hour writing and performance workshop with the creators of Hillsong Boy, you'll learn how to turn your personal stories into dynamic theatre. Through writing, sharing, and refining, you'll work with the group and award-winning theatre makers Felicity Nicol and Scott Parker to shape and curate your story into something for performance. We'll then explore how to stage openness and honesty as we workshop your story on the floor.
Expect lively discussions about the ethics of autobiography, the nature of truth in storytelling, and self-care while delving into personal narratives. Whether you're writing for a stage play, a book, or simply seeking creative inspiration, this workshop will guide you.
Come and turn your life story into art!
