Join us on October 13th to greet the Diamond Princess - the first cruise ship of the 2024/25 summer season.
This is a low-risk fun action. Meet beside the cenotaph for a quick briefing. Bring a drink, snack, and dress for the weather. We will have banners, leaflets and chalk - you bring the energy and vibes!!!
This is the first of 25 visits by these huge floating hotels to dock in Pōneke between now and the end of 2024. That's a lot of emissions. Four days of one of these ships cruising will take one life due climate change-related causes by 2100. Do the maths - that's a lot of people dying simply for luxury, convient recreation.
Come along, have some fun, hang out with people who care about a livable future our children and grandchildren.
