About Gretta Ziller

Gretta Ziller writes songs for people who have lived a little, left a few places, and kept going anyway.

A Melbourne based Americana and alt country artist, Gretta’s music is grounded in country storytelling, roots grit, and the kind of honesty that does not need polishing. Her songs often sit in the spaces between work and wanting, leaving and returning, friendship and loneliness, the country you come from and the person you become.

Gretta is currently releasing new music ahead of her fifth studio album, drawn from The Long & Writing Road, a year long project where she co wrote 52 songs in 52 weeks with writers across Australia and overseas. The project brought her back to the centre of what she loves most about songs: connection, conversation, and finding the line that says the thing you were trying to avoid.

Her recent single Gravel received support from ABC Country, and her past work has earned Golden Guitar nominations and a place across major Australian country, folk, and Americana stages, including Tamworth Country Music Festival and Gympie Music Muster.

Live, Gretta brings the songs, the stories, the band, and the kind of humour that makes a room feel like it is in on the joke.
