Grief-care Sunday: Yoga & Creative Movement

Explore the connection between body, mind and spirit.

Using movement, yoga, sound and breath, you'll learn to embrace self-compassion, release heavy emotions, and move into a state of lightness and relief. 

Led by Pepe (Jose Inostroza Aqueveque). Suitable for all experience levels.

#1 Yoga session: 11am - 12:30pm

Move and release grief-related emotions held in your body through yoga, breath work and sound. Accompanied by live music from Gabriela Georges (founder of The Grief Cocoon).

#2 Creative Movement session: 2pm - 5:00pm

A somatic movement session designed to re-energise you, promote creativity, and encourage playfulness through explorative activities.

About the lead facilitator: Pepe from Ease and Motion is an interdisciplinary practitioner, facilitator, and artist. He integrates Somatic Bodywork, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Performing Arts, Yoga and Myotherapy. 

He has facilitated creative, educational and therapeutic sessions in individual and group settings, engaging with different age groups and diverse communities. Pepe has a strong connection with communities that identify as Multicultural, Linguistically Diverse, People of Colour and LGBTQIA+. He also worked in group settings with patients, caregivers and family members of people with Dementia, PTSD, chronic mental and physical health conditions, as well as those who have experienced displacement, becoming refugees or migrants.

Pepe embraces every moment and activity that he’s involved in with love, respect and care, bringing a sense of joy, uniqueness, and wellbeing to those around him.

  • For those taking public transport, the venue is an 11 min walk from West Footscray Train Station or a short bus ride away from Footscray Station.
  • Parking is available around the venue.
  • This venue has a few steps to the front door, so it's unfortunately not wheelchair accessible at this time.
