Come with Life Rites and DJ Gemma into the spaces, the slippages and the in-betweens, to share the load of grieving and to see what happens when we do. Grief Moves is an invitation to gather in a collective space. Whether you are actively grieving or simply willing to lend your body to the metabolising of it. This is not a workshop or a support group. This is a dance floor, a portal, a space to unfurl. You can bring personal, collective, communal, environmental, ancestral, disenfranchised and unnamed grief. All the grief. All are welcome here.
What to Expect
Grief Moves is an experiential gathering that works with the elements you bring. Expect music, movement, and space to be with whatever arises. DJ Gemma will hold us as we work collectively, so the room shapes what unfolds.
You might come with something specific, or simply with curiosity, to hold space for others. You may dance, move, or you may not. All are welcome.
Altar / Objects
You are warmly invited to bring an object, photograph, or written words that carry meaning. There will be a place to lay it. You can also write or draw something on the day.
This is a substance-free event
Take your meds but leave the substances at home. We work with what you bring through the door.
Date and Time
Saturday 18 July 2026
4:30pm — Doors open. Time to settle in, and to lay or make any objects for the altar.
5:00–5:30pm — Beginning. Off we go.
5:30–7:00pm — Immersing.
7:00–7:30pm — Emerging.
7:30–8:00pm — Completion.
8:30pm — Evening closes.

By car: Free street parking is available on nearby streets including Lily Street.

Refunds/Cancellations
If you purchase a ticket and can't attend, please get in touch with us at info@liferitesfunerals.com as soon as possible. We are happy to process refunds up to 1pm Saturday 18th July.
Accessibility and Support
We want to do our best to make this space accessible to you. If you have needs we haven't anticipated or questions about what to expect on the night, please get in touch before you come. We would rather know than have you miss out.
On the night, there will be people present whose role is to offer support. There will also be a quiet, low-sensory space available throughout the evening. If you need to step away, rest, or simply be somewhere softer for a moment, it is there for you.
