Event Overview:

Health professionals can experience what it's like to talk with someone living with dementia in the trailblazing workshop, Talk with Ted.

Ted is an avatar, powered by artificial intelligence. What helps make him so true-to-life is that he is programmed with symptoms commonly associated with dementia.

Talk with Ted is both interactive and practical, to ensure that knowledge is translated into practice. It uses adaptive learning to focus on improving gaps in knowledge and skills. The workshop aims to allow participants to reflect on their current communication practices, while providing an opportunity to consider changes to their approach.

You will gain knowledge in:

  • dementia's impact on communication
  • the impact of your own approach
  • human rights principles when talking to someone who is living with dementia

Suitable for:

Individuals who provide support to people living with dementia in various care settings. This training is only open to registered participants of the Home Care Workforce Support Program and/or Home Care Provider management staff.
