Grounded Touch
Event description
Building Capacity from the Inside Out
Are you in your head a lot? Do you feel like it's hard to know what you're feeling or what you need in any given moment? Do you feel overwhelmed, panicky or "check out" around others? Do you feel disconnected from your body, from yourself? Are you not sure if these questions describe you?
This two-hour class is an introduction to practices we can implement in daily life to help us feel less scattered, less overwhelmed, and more connected. In class we’ll practice tuning into our internal, body-based experience. Through simple, gentle, body-oriented exercises, you will learn fundamental skills for tracking your awareness and “noticing what you notice” in your body. Learning our body’s signals gives us choices. We can make informed decisions and better communicate to others what we need.
Guided activities will be mostly individual; a few will involve working in pairs. If this class sounds intriguing, bring your curiosity, a willingness to participate, and an open focus. If this class stirs up some jitters, bring those too (good noticing, btw). Trust yourself: if this class sounds like too much at this time, know that other opportunities will present themselves at a later time.
