Grounding and Lightness - a Contact Improv Dance workshop with Joerg Hassmann
Event description
Connecting to what supports us, finding ease, softness and
strength. How does this base make us feel lighter, physically and
mentally?
We'll work quite a bit on the floor, focussing on an alive and
powerful center, that enables a general flow and light, expanding
limbs.
And we'll explore the spine as a core movement organiser in
standing level for lifting, falling and flying.
How do these two rather different structures, the centre and the
spine, co-facilitate our movements, when soloing and when in touch
with another dancer in all the yummy contact situations?
From a somatic base, especially developmental movement patterns
and some body systems like the skeleton and the fascia, we'll
approach detailed CI technique as well as rather open frames to
experience what our bodies are capable of if we let go of control
and pushy habits.
