Event description
We focus on the building blocks of Afro-Cuban Movement:
- History and breakdown of the Orishas, focusing on the following Orishas:
- Eleguá or Elegguá or Eshu
- Ochosi
- Palo
- Oshun
- Ogun
- Oya
- Yemaya
The weekend progresses as we build on these fundamentals. With detailed breakdowns and corrections throughout the weekend!
Whether you are interested in Afro-Cuban Movement directly or are using it to enhance your Latin Dance technique, it is an amazing weekend to advance your skill set and well-roundedness of Latin Dance Movement.

- Moello or Moyes (Afro-Cuban Bounce or Base)
- Weight Transfer
- Shoulder and Hip Movement
- Body Movement/Ungulations
- Chachalokafun

- Friday Training #1:
- 6:30p-8:30p History & Culture, Rhythms, Steps (Beginner/Experienced Beginner)
- Saturday Training #2:
- 10:30a-12:30p Elegua (Intermediate)
- Saturday Training #3:
- 1:30p-3:30p Chachalokafun - Yemaya & Oya (skirts needed) (Intermediate)
- Sunday Training #4:
- 12:00p-2:00p Yemaya & Oya (skirts needed) (Intermediate)
- Sunday Training #5:
- 3:00p-5:00p Ogun (Intermediate)

About Oneysis Alvarez
Oneysis was born in New York and started dancing very young. He trained with Yamulee Dance company for 5 years and then headed to Guadalajara, Mexico to train with the Master, Ivan Valdespino! There he spent another 5 years training and studying the Orishas and has been teaching in the U.S. for the past three years!
