About Ashley Hanson with NDTS
What is NDTS?
NDTS provides movement and performance coaching to dancers of all styles, ages and abilities. Our mission is to help dancers unlock their movement potential to allow for the widest possible foundation upon which they can build their skill.
Who is NDTS?
NDTS was co-founded by husband and wife duo Kason and Ashley Hanson in 2019. Ashley was a professional ballet dancer for 7.5 years and has been instructing ballet technique for over 20 years. She has served as faculty in studio and college settings and has guest instructed, choreographed and performed across the U.S. as well as 13 countries throughout Europe, Asia, South America and the Caribbean during her professional career. Ashley’s most recent passion has been exploring the Somatic, mind/body approach to movement. Kason trained and performed professionally in ballet, holds an AAS as a Physical Therapist Assistant (Summa Cum Laude), a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Science with a minor in Music Composition and Sound Design (Summa Cum Laude), is Functional Movement Screen level 1 & 2 certified, and continues to teach ballet technique and pedagogy along with movement and performance coaching. If it is about human movement or sound, Kason is excited!
What you will explore with NDTS?
Based on individual movement screens, we assist in reestablishing healthy movement “patterns” by utilizing a systematic, neuro-developmental approach to encourage easy, efficient and pain free movement. We build “awareness” through all areas of the body through a Somatic approach of mind to body connections. We explore the importance of breath and how it motivates and affects all movement.
Our involvement with Latisha Hardy Dance & Company
We’re so thankful that Latisha Hardy places focus and value on a continuum of care that supports each aspect of a dancer’s needs and goals. This support and attention to movement quality will impact how a dancer exists in their own body and will enhance their technical training. We are honored that she has chosen to invite NDTS as a resource to foster both quality and ease of movement for her dancers.
