An open level environment for anyone new to belly dance, new to Group Improv, or an experienced Group Improv/Fusion dancer wanting to get back to basics. We will discover which muscles to use with healthy dance posture and technique and learn the Slow and Fast fundamental movements of FCBD®Style that make this dance form so unique - with its specific cues, body language and transitions. And moving on from there, we start expanding your technique and repertoire! We will work on the principles of “Improvised Choreography” (lead and follow) dance, explore the nuances of how to move with your fellow dance mates, and play with formations. Lots of short drills with fingers cymbals will be used to have fun and bring the dance to life!
𝟳.𝟭𝟱𝗽𝗺-𝟴.𝟰𝟱𝗽𝗺-𝗶𝘀𝗵
𝗙𝗖𝗕𝗗®+𝗚𝗖®𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲/𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱/𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝟮+/𝟯)
Moving on from the FCBD®Style fundamentals, we start to seriously have some fun! We will delve into the more Advanced Movement Vocabulary, along with expanding Improvisation, Formation, Staging, Musicality, Finger Cymbal and Performance techniques. And just for fun, we often play with variations from FCBD®'s "cousin" format Global Caravan®. If you wish to perform, this is the class for you! Plenty of opportunities will be available throughout the year to perform at local outdoor festivals and Melbourne Bellydance events. This is also the class where we play with PROPS - such as Skirt Work, Flamenco Shawls, Pots, Baskets, and Aqua Moon's personal favourite....SWORDS!
Minimum 6 months experience in foundations of movements and Group Improv dynamics is needed for this class.
