GROW Festival of Regenerative Food & Farming
Event description
A festival of discovery for anyone interested in food production, agriculture and the environment. GROW is a conference and a field day but with the fun of a festival!
Join farmers, scientists, innovators, agribusinesses and local food producers as we explore how we can best look after the land, improve farm profitability, grow good food and reconnect farmers and consumers.
The jam-packed one-day program includes more than 25 food and farming speakers from Australia and around the world, plus lively panel discussions, walk-and-talk practical demonstrations, the GROW Lab for answers to all your soil-science questions; the Grower Hub to meet a whole host of local, small-scale food producers, exhibitor displays and workshops, plenty of regeneratively grown local food to purchase and the opportunity to socialise and network on the beautiful lawns of Kyneton Racecourse.
Speakers include climate documentary maker Peter Byck (US, @carboncowboys), soil health educator Joel Williams (Canada), humans-in-agriculture researcher Prof Ruth Nettle, forester among farmers Rowan Reid, Nuffield scholar and carbon-neutral wool producer Colette Glazik, multi-species pasture agronomist Jade Killoran, ag tech CEO and Agrifutures National Woman of the Year Nikki Davey, practical grazing champion Jason McAinch, Nutrien Ag's sustainable policy and program design manager Luke Hooke, ag podcaster Kirsten Diprose and pioneering regen cropping and grazing farmers plus many, many more.
See a Soilkee pasture renovator in action and talk to Soilkee inventor Niels Olsen, take a walk with conservation scientists along the adjacent Campaspe River, learn to identify weeds and lots of much more desirable plants, watch a drone mapping exercise, learn how to set up temporary fencing for adaptive multi-paddock grazing and discover the power of keeping water in your landscape for longer at a natural sequence farming session.
