Grow, learn and connect at the Linde Community Garden

Whether you are a first time gardener or looking to build on your skills, join us for a hands-on series of workshops over the course of four months at the Linde Community Garden in our NPSP Youth Garden Bed.

Book into for all four workshop dates and choose the session that suits you best — Session 1 (10:00am–12:30pm) or Session 2 (1:00pm–3:30pm). You'll attend the same session time across the full series.

Intro to the Linde Community Garden and Compost in Action

Sunday 30 August

Kick off the course with a communal project to build and maintain a designated garden bed in the Linde Community Garden. Learn the Community Garden etiquette, find a garden bed in your area and get 1:1 advice on starting your own food forest, in a backyard, courtyard, balcony or windowsill.

Roll up your sleeves to build a compost heap and explore worm farming and bokashi systems. Learn how to feed your soil and close the nutrient loop.Sunday 30 August

Starting Seeds, Propagation and Wicking Beds 101

Sunday 27 September

Get hands-on experience sowing seeds, taking cuttings and learning propagation techniques for a self-grown garden. Participants will take home their own plants and seeds.

Gain the skills to construct a wicking bed. Explore water-wise gardening and design principles for dry climates.

Seed Saving

Sunday 25 October

Learn how to save and store seeds from your garden to grow again next year. We’ll explore seed collection, cleaning, drying, and storage techniques for common herbs, vegetables, fruit trees and flowers. Discover how seed saving builds local resilience, preserves heirloom varieties, and strengthens community food systems.

Spring is in full swing, so it's time to plant! Together we’ll fill the garden beds with seasonal veggies, herbs, and flowers, learning about companion planting, soil health and how to keep young plants thriving. A practical day in the garden celebrating new growth and abundance.
