    Volunteer Session 2 - Growing from Seed & Companion Planting

    This training session has been developed for those volunteering in community gardens, however there are limited tickets available for the general public. 

    Participants will learn about seed development, germination and other simple botany facts plus be shown how to harvest seeds and maximise seed raising success.  Companion planting will be discussed and demonstrated including its uses in natural pest control and pollination.       

    This training session is part of the Enviro House Community Garden Skill Building Program project, under the Community Gardens Grants program. Supported by the Department of Communities.

    About the presenter
    Yann Toussaint has over 25 years experience in running bush regeneration nurseries, community gardens and landscaping services. He has taught extensively at UWA and South Regional TAFE in various aspects of sustainability, community development, horticulture and permaculture and regularly delivers gardening, sustainability and nature journaling workshops for adults and children.
