Growing the Good Life in Kwinana- a creative workshop

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Every day we are bombarded with more news about hardship, the cost of living, possibility of recession etc.

Anglicare and Ruah are interested to understand what life is like for people right now and have spent the past year walking alongside 6 families in the local area through our Sunshine Project. We’ve developed a really good understanding about what makes life hard for them, but we also connected with their visions for a good life for their families.

When we spoke with other community members and services in the area, they were also drawn to the idea of growing the good life.

We’re inviting you to come along for a morning of listening, thinking and generating ideas about what could enable people to build the good life in Kwinana, even in the context of hard times.

You have been invited because you know the area, you care about Kwinana and because you might be able to play a role in creating avenues to grow the good life.

We’re getting together on:

Friday 17th February 9.30am-1.30pm in the big hall at the Darius Wells Centre

We’ll put on some snacks.

There is a creche onsite if you have kids under 5 with you and we will cover this cost. Just note in your RSVP how many kids under 5 will be with you.

What will happen on the day:

  • We will share learning together about Kwinana, each other and a vision for the good life.
  • We will do a creative session to generate ideas and narrow down those with the best potential.
  • Identify who will lead and help with testing the best ideas
  • We have some avenues to access funds to test out some ideas in small scale.

Come with an open mind and a sense of possibility.

Please RSVP to let us know if you’re coming.

If you have questions, or if you can’t make it on that Friday, but are still really keen to be involved email amy.deklerk@ruah.org.au or joni.sercombe@anglicarewa.org.au and we may run a follow-up session on an evening or weekend.
