Growing Together Part III: Rain Barrels
Event description
Making your garden self-sufficient with rain barrels not only helps the environment, it saves you money!
Join us on June 1st for the third women's workshop in the Growing Together series where we will focus on rain barrels. Our speaker, Steve Johnson, will share the benefits of installing a rain barrel on your property. Then, you will make your own rain barrel with the provided materials!
Steve Johnson is a 1977 graduate of Manchester (College) University with a degree in Environmental Studies. He has spent more than 20 years in the environmental and recycling industries, serving as executive director of Manchester Recycling (a community-based volunteer recycling organization), the executive director of the Wabash County Solid Waste Management District (17 years), and as northern Indiana representative on the Association of Indiana Solid Waste Management Districts board of directors (9 years).

SJP offers a variety of environmental products such as Bokashi bins, composters, aerators, kitchen scrap bins, recycled plastic/rubber flower pots, rain barrel kits, recycled landscape glass, and 100% recycled content shipping boxes.
The cost of this workshop is $30 to help cover the costs of the rain barrel materials.
A light breakfast will be provided so come hungry and ready to build a rain barrel to take home!
