Tuesday 29 October - Family Sessions:
Please select the session relevant to you and RSVP if you can or cannot attend.
Session 1
Year 2 - Year 4 families at 6.00pm: “Where Did We Come from?” Parents and their daughters will be guided though conversations and explanations on topics such as;
• Naming and discussing male and female body parts of the reproductive system.
• Dispersing myths about where babies come from.
• Discussing egg and sperm cells, sexual intercourse (age appropriate), fertilisation and conception.
• Discussing the 9 months of foetal development.
• Explain vaginal and caesarean birth processes.
Session 2
Year 5 Families at 7.00pm: “What’s Happening to Us?” Parents and their daughters will be guided though conversations and explanations on topics such as;
• Naming and discussing parts of the female reproductive system.
• Explaining physical and emotional changes during puberty.
• Discussing ways to improve self-esteem and body image.
• Discussing the impact social media has on body image, including
photoshopping.
• Communicating as a family, including ways to negotiate.
